ARATANI WORLD SERIES:
HāLAU KEALI’I O NāLANI

Honoring his 25 years of service, Kumu Hula Keali’i Ceballos has prepared a program that will touch all ages and bring the spirit of Hawaii to your heart. A cast of 70 dancers and musicians share traditional and contemporary stories of our ancestors, Hawaiian Gods and Goddesses, the Hawaiian monarchy, and Hawai’i as a place of beauty from the mountains to the sea.  Special guest artist Kuana Torres Kahele will add to the sensual beauty and playful spirit of hula.

Kumu Hula Keali’i Ceballos has imparted the core values of  Hawaiian culture, particularly those of aloha (compassion) and ‘ohana (family) for 25 years. He is revered around the world for his deep knowledge of ancient Hawaiian Hula, his creativity in choreographing Hula in new styles, and his personal power in performance.  A measure of his success is 17 years of competition at the prestigious Merrie Monarch Hula Festival in Hilo, Hawai`i. On this anniversary year Hālau Keali’i o Nālani will once again share their hula stories at the 2016 festival.

“No one can convey the meaning of aloha like Kumu Keali’i. Every action, gesture, chant and song embodies the significance, dignity and integrity of Hawaii.”
