JACCC, in coordination with the L.A. Daiku Association, and under the artistic leadership of Music Director and Conductor Jeffrey Bernstein, has opened registration for up to  300 voices from around Southern California and Japan to join us as we perform Beethoven's 9th Symphony and Choral Fantasy at the Walt Disney Concert Hall on July 28, 2017.

In order to participate in the final performance, each singer MUST REGISTER and BE PRESENT at the last three rehearsals on July 26, 27 & 28. (July 26 & 27 will take place at Aratani Theatre, July 28 at Walt Disney Concert Hall before the performance.)

We are performing Ludwig Van Beethoven's 9th Symphony and Choral Fantasy. Singers from Japan must be able to sing Beethoven's Choral Fantasy & 9th Symphony.

WHERE CAN I REHEARSE?

Rehearsals are taking place at Pacific Church of Irvine (Irvine) on Tuesdays (7:15pm), Aratani Theatre (Los Angeles) on Thursdays (7pm), and First Lutheran Church and School (Torrance) on Fridays (7pm). Updates and changes to the schedule are available to participants once registered. No rehearsals are scheduled in Japan; singers from Japan will only be required to rehearse in Los Angeles on July 26, 27, and 28.

IS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED?

Experience not required but rehearsals are critical to the quality of our performance. In addition to weekly rehearsals, singers are given multiple tools to aid practicing on their own. However we understand that unforeseen circumstances and illness may arise, and we expect all singer to notify their choral coaches of their absence in these situations. Participants cannot miss more than four rehearsals to be included in the final concert, with few exceptions. Final concert participation will be at the discretion of the Musical Director.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

Registration for each singer is $100.

WHAT DO I GET IF I REGISTER?

Each singer who registers will have the opportunity to perform on the Disney Concert Hall stage (with attendance at Final Dress Rehearsal) and receive a copy of the rehearsal/performance score, access to online choir tools, a commemorative Bridge To Joy T-Shirt, and a bento dinner as part of the Final Dress Rehearsal.

WHY ARE REGISTRATION LIMITED FOR EACH VOCAL PART?

Each vocal part has a limited number of spots to support a musical balance. Once the spots are filled, a wait list registration will be opened. Wait-listed members will be able to participate in weekly rehearsals (a rehearsal coordinator will contact you with information)
