JACCC Volunteers

We are indebted to our volunteers who have helped us with many of our community festivals and cultural events over the years. We are continually looking for volunteers who are willing to donate their time and hard work to many of these special events that wouldn't be possible without their support.

What: Bride to Joy Hospitality Crew
When: Wednesday July 26, 2017;  5 PM - 8:30 PM

Details:
On Friday July 28th, over 300 singers from Southern California and Japan will come together and perform Beethoven's 9th Symphony at the Walt Disney Concert Hall. Their first rehearsal as a full group of 300 will be Wednesday July 26th in the Aratani Theatre. As part of this rehearsal, there will be a dinner provided to the performers, which is where we are looking for 6-8 volunteers to do the following:
- Assist JACCC staff in hospitality for over 300 choir singers
- Setup and take down tables and chairs
- Distribute dinner to guests
- Be able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Take direction from JACCC staff
Perks: Volunteers will be provided 1 parking voucher for the Sho Tokyo parking structure located at 350 E. 2nd St Los Angeles, CA 90012. Additionally, snacks and refreshments will be available for volunteers. 

What: Koji Crafting
When: Sunday August 13, 2017;  9 AM - 4 PM
Where: JACCC, Center Building, 244 S. San Pedro St. Los Angeles, CA 90012
Department: Culinary Arts

Details: JACCC is looking for 3 volunteers to do the following:
- Assist the lead culinary instructor
- Assist with setup, registration, day-of tasks, and clean up
- Be able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Take direction from JACCC staff

What: Nisei Week 2017
When: August 19 - 27.
- Weekend 1 - Saturday 19 - Sunday 20 from 8 AM - 5 PM
- Weekend 2 - Saturday 26 - Saturday 27 from 8 AM - 5 PM

Between Saturday August 19th and Sunday August 27th Nisei Week will be celebrating its 77th annual festival! JACCC will be holding annual cultural exhibitions, entertainment, and activities throughout the two weekends. 
JACCC is looking for 3-4 volunteers each day to help with the following: 
- Setup/take down
- Day-of logistics
- Tabling for the JACCC info table
- Assist with the stage crew
- Assist with facility care
Perks: Volunteers will be provided 1 parking voucher for the Sho Tokyo parking structure located at 350 E. 2nd St Los Angeles, CA 90012. Additionally, lunch, breaks, and help contribute to Little Tokyo's biggest event of the year, Nisei Week!


Gallery Volunteers

The George J. Doizaki Gallery is the site for more than 13 exhibitions per year, from traditional to contemporary arts. JACCC is looking for volunteers to work as gallery monitors and also to help with the set-up of many of our unique exhibits.
